Kite & Wind Surfing

High winds mean high adventure in Springfield.  For decades, windsurfers have flocked to CJ Brown Reservoir, notorious for its strong and consistent winds.  More recently, the kite surfers/kite boarders have followed suit.  Kite surfing has become more popular than windsurfing as a watersport because it is easier to learn the basics and much easier to transport the necessary equipment.  The 2,200 acre CJ Brown Reservoir, located in Buck Creek State Park, is a great place for beginners and experts alike.  Easily accessible from just about anywhere, the reservoir puts windsport adventures within reach.
